So yes it took some time to analyze what his emotions were let alone understand. It was kind of a dick thing to say but she was almost too bland for Shin. However for as much as she was perfect it was almost as if she was too perfect for Shin. She was the package deal by almost anyone's standards. Each moment they were together was full of adventure whether they were battling demons or something as simple as eating life was full of, well, life. Grandpa had described his love with Grandma as something passionate and intense. After getting to know her she became more like a little sister than anything else. Sure at first he thought she was hot he may have even lusted after her but it never went past that. At one point he thought that maybe he did love her but after a discussion with Grandpa he quickly discovered that his feelings for her we're now primarily platonic. Sizilien, as cute as she was wasn't someone who he thought he loved.

When it came to love he wasn't quite sure if family love like that he had for Grandma and Grandpa was the same. That didn't mean he didn't understand right from wrong or he wasn't very observant, he just never really knew what emotions or expression often meant (the only exception being familial bonds and works). Really he wasn't very good with anything that didn't involve combat, magic, and more Magic. Sure Shin wasn't very good when it came to standard social constructs.
